A UC Davis study is painting a very bleak picture for nearly half of native California salmon.  According to a report released yesterday, that staggering number of salmon will become extinct by 2067 unless major changes are made.  Researchers point to historic drought as well as changing landscape of dams and water infrastructures as contributing factors to the salmon’s dim future.  The report recommends a collaborative effort between environmentalists, the state and farmers to work toward creating a thriving ecosystem despite ongoing battles over water rights.
