Sonoma County transportation officials are fast-tracking a sound wall project along Highway 101 in Petaluma. Officials who voted this week to expedite the project said the sound wall was originally included in a project to widen the freeway from Caulfield Lane to Corona Road, but the work stalled due to a funding gap. The construction contract is expected to be put to bid in late 2018 with completion expected in late 2019.
