Petaluma City officials are touting the signing of a new long-term lease with the state for the Petaluma Marina. The 20-year agreement will offer more favorable terms to the city and allow it to recoup rents from people living on their boats in the marina. The new lease lowers the city’s annual payments about one-thousand dollars and estimates it can make up to 30-thousand dollars in rent from these new arrangements. Petaluma signed the original 30-year lease with the California State Lands Commission in 1988.
