A new report is indicating that Sonoma County residents need to make about 98-thousand dollars a year to afford rent. The report released yesterday by finance technology company SmartAsset looked at rental housing markets in major U.S. cities and calculated what annual salary someone has to make to afford a two-bedroom apartment. On Craigslist, Sonoma County two-bedrooms currently go for about two-thousand-300 a month, and latest Census reports have the county’s median household income at just over 64-thousand. Median rent wages fell six percent from 2000 to 2015, while the county’s median rent increased 16 percent in the same period.
