California Independent System Operator Asks People to Conserve Energy

No one can do anything about the heat wave, but people throughout the Bay Area and everywhere else in California can help deal with it.  The organization that oversees the state’s electrical generation and delivery systems, the California Independent System Operator, is issuing a power warning.  That means people should voluntarily conserve energy.  Ways to do that include setting the thermostat at 78 and turning off the a/c when you aren’t home, cooling with fans and keeping drapes drawn, and using major appliances only in the morning and after 9 p.m.
