Segments of a bike and pedestrian path running along SMART rail tracks are one major step closer to reality. SMART officials said yesterday a just over one-mile path over the Petaluma River and under Highway 101 between Payran Street and Southpoint Boulevard in Petaluma is now fully-funded and construction plans are in the works.  The other segment reviewed yesterday would extend from Golf Course Drive in Rohnert Park to Todd Road south of Santa Rosa.  The more than three-million-dollar Petaluma pathway segment is slated to be completed by 2021, but with additional state funds could be completed by 2019.
