Hundreds of volunteers are still needed for the Ironman Santa Rosa triathlon.  Organizers of this Saturday’s endurance event said that as of yesterday they’re still seeking about 500 volunteers for an array of roles, including athlete check-in and safety patrols on Lake Sonoma.  About 22-hundred athletes are expected to compete in the race, which includes a nearly two-and-a-half-mile swim and 112-mile bike ride and a marathon run.  Anyone interested in volunteering can register at the event’s website.
