Cal Fire officials are trying to figure out why a Windsor neighborhood received an accidental soaking of pink fire retardant. A Cal Fire air tanker yesterday afternoon dropped the retardant on about a dozen homes and cars on its landing approach at the Sonoma County airport. The thick sticky retardant, a nontoxic mixture of phosphates and thickeners, covered the street, grass, flowers, plants, homes and cars along Decanter Circle.
