It is part of the “housing first” approach:  Santa Rosa homeless shelter Sam Jones Hall is adding 50 beds at its Finley Avenue facility.  Volunteers and employees of Catholic Charities this weekend unloaded and helped assemble several new bunk beds, which represent a more than 35-percent increase in beds in the same building space.  The city is spending 500-thousand dollars to expand the shelter to nearly 200 beds.  The expansion means people currently living at Homeless Hill off Bennett Valley Road, and others, will have a safe place to go before the encampment is cleared out this month.
