San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee wants people to stay away from this weekend’s controversial Patriot Prayer Rally at Crissy Field. Lee is among several city officials denouncing this Saturday’s event as hateful, saying he has real concerns that attendees could turn violent.  The mayor says he isn’t thrilled that the National Park Service even issued a permit to the organizers for the rally, saying past rallies by the same group have featured neo-Nazis and white supremacists.  Lee is inviting the public to instead attend a “counter-rally” Friday at City Hall, and come to a city block party at Civic Center Plaza on Saturday.
