Thunder and Lightning Dance Across the Sky Overnight

Lightning

It was quite a show from Mother Nature, as the Bay Area was host to thunder, lightning and rain during a rare September storm last evening and overnight. Over a thousand lightning strikes were recorded: one strike hit a worker at SFO, who is recovering. Many flights were delayed there because of the storm. Nearly 9-thousand people lost power, mostly in the East Bay. Here in Sonoma County, the heat mixed with those unsettled conditions to provide the fireworks in the night sky. One band rolled thru in the early evening hours, another after 10pm: the unsettled conditions are expected to last thru tonight.
