Rates of sexually transmitted diseases continue to increase and are at an all-time high in California. According to a report released yesterday by the California Department of Health, in 2016, there were more than 250-thousand cases of STDs reported, which represent a 40-percent increase compared to 2011. Officials say this is the third year in a row they’ve seen increases in cases of chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis. The report urges all Californians to get tested regularly as one way to protect themselves and their partners.
