Sonoma County kids are struggling to meet California state standards on English and math. Results released this week show about two-thirds of Sonoma County students failed to meet or exceed math standards and more than half of the students missed the mark on California’s English standardized test. Students around the state didn’t do much better. About 49-percent of Sonoma County students tested proficient in English and about 37-percent met or exceeded math standards. These results are practically the same as last year.
