The last remaining victims of the North Bay firestorm are on their way to new, temporary housing. Nearly 70 people had still been using the Finley Center, which was taken over by the city of Santa Rosa last week. The evacuation center was being run by Catholic Charities, which offered some residents housing at another shelter and provided hotel vouchers to victims unable to find their own housing. According to the “Press Democrat,” Catholic Charities is helping people who don’t qualify for government aid by paying first and last months’ rent and security deposits and landlords are eligible for a 500-dollar incentive for renting to fire victims.
