Following the coordinated raid of a Sonoma County Hells Angels gathering over the weekend at a downtown bar, the FBI today announced in a news conference at the FBI San Francisco Bureau the indictment of 11 Hells Angels members on a number of charges, including murder.  The San Francisco Chronicle reports that members of the Santa Rosa Hells Angels chapter were indicted on charges of conspiracy, murder, robbery, extortion, and witness intimidation.  The raid was the culmination of a 3 year investigation and included the seizure of weapons, drugs, 10 Harley-Davidson motorcycles, and drugs.  The Sonoma County chapter of the Hells Angels was set to go out on it’s annual “End of Summer Run” on Saturday afternoon – which was scheduled to begin from the Wagon Wheel bar in downtown Santa Rosa.  The FBI, in coordination with local law enforcement, raided the event after the riders gathered, made arrestsray and seized motorcycles, according to eyewitnesses. FBI Special Agent in Charge John Bennett said “Groups such as the Hells Angels instill fear in our communities”…”The FBI aims to dismantle criminal organizations that threaten our citizens.”  One of the defendants is Raymond ‘Ray Ray’ Foakes, a past President of the Sonoma County chapter, who has been the subject of federal investigation in the past.
