Former Stanford swimmer Brock Turner is asking a San Jose appeals court to overturn his sexual assault conviction. The 22-year-old was convicted last year of three felony counts of assault involving an unconscious and intoxicated woman. The case made national headlines when Santa Clara Superior Court Judge Aaron Persky sentenced Turner to six months behind bars following the conviction. He was released for good behavior after serving only half of the sentence. Turner filed to overturn the conviction last Friday, claiming that the trial was unfair.
