Local air quality officials say all wood burning is banned unless a fireplace or wood stove is the only heat source for the home. Violators face a 100-dollar fine for a first offense or they have the option of taking a wood smoke awareness class. A second offense is a 500-dollar fine. Stagnant and unhealthy air quality continues this week with no rain in the forecast until late next week.
