A father and son are dead after they were swept out to sea off the Sonoma County coast. U.S. Coast Guard officials say the incident happened yesterday as several children were playing in some shallow water off Goat Rock State Beach. Officials say a strong undertow knocked one six-year-old boy down and swept him out into deeper water. The child’s father is said to have jumped in to try and save his son but the undertow ended up taking both victims out. Both bodies were eventually recovered.
