The late former San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee is being remembered for his dignity, his passion for San Francisco, and his terrible jokes.  Over 16-hundred people from all walks of life gathered at City Hall for a memorial to celebrate the life of Lee, who died unexpectedly last week while still in office. Governor Jerry Brown said Lee was a person who communicated integrity, while former Mayor Willie Brown said that Lee was more qualified to be mayor than any of the former mayors in the room. Among the people who showed up for yesterday’s memorial Bay Area sports icons Joe Montana and Barry Bonds.
