The busiest shipping week of the year is here and the U.S. Postal Service is expecting an increase in packages compared to last year. The Santa Rosa Postmaster predicts as many as 165-thousand packages will go out by the end of this week. In anticipation of the rush, Postmaster Michelle Tucker says she filled empty positions plus hired two additional clerks for the holiday season. From Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day, the postal service expects to process 15-billion pieces of mail nationwide – 850 million of that will be packages.
