The Santa Rosa City Council is set to consider an April 9th deadline for the removal of dangerous wildfire ash and other debris from residential and commercial properties in the city. The October wildfires destroyed about three-thousand structures and most of the property owners opted to have the Army Corps of Engineers clean up at no cost in a process set to be completed by the end of next month. But there are still more than 300 residential and commercial lots that have yet to be cleared and city officials say the mess is hazardous and toxic to people and the environment. The council will make their decision on the deadline during today’s meeting.
