Some Santa Rosa Junior College students are demanding school officials reconsider proposed cuts to summer courses. During a protest yesterday outside President Frank Chong’s office, students and staff urged Chong to find other ways of reducing a six-and-a-half-million dollar budget shortfall. Chong, who earns well over 300-thousand dollars a year, promised to work to reduce pay for himself and other members of his administration. Chong, who continued to apologize for proposing to cut summer courses, said the repercussion of his proposal is the largest crisis he’s faced since he took the post six years ago.
