A U.S. federal judge is placing a temporary halt on closing down a homeless camp behind the Dollar Tree store in Roseland. The U.S. district judge in San Francisco yesterday set a hearing for ten o’clock Thursday morning and ordered county officials not to evict the roughly 100 homeless people currently living in tents on the property off Sebastopol Road. Owners of the property had given people until today to leave so they could begin a redevelopment project that is expected to include about 175 housing units.
