Governor Jerry Brown is agreeing to deploy about 400 National Guard troops to the border for added security. Brown’s office yesterday emphasized that the troops won’t be used for “enforcing federal immigration laws” and will supplement the 55 Guard members already stationed at the U.S.-Mexico border. President Donald Trump last week said he wanted to send as many as four-thousand National Guard members to the border. And so far, between Arizona, New Mexico and Texas the current number adds up to almost half of that.
