Storage containers for construction crews working to rebuild neighborhoods in fire-ravaged Santa Rosa are locked and blocked by heavy equipment after thieves managed to take off with tools and other equipment from construction sites. Now the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Department is providing extra patrols in the neighborhoods. Residents and construction workers are also keeping an eye on the sites and say the community really comes together in times of crisis. The thieves aren’t stopping the rebuilding process and construction crews are hoping to complete the first home by next month.
