Pool Owners Are Being Warned Not to Put Too Much Chlorine in Their Pools This Summer

Now that the unofficial start of summer is here, the California Department of Pesticide Regulation is reminding pool owners not to put too much chlorine in their pools.

DPR Spokeswoman Charlotte Fadipe explained between 2006 and 2015, over 500 people in California have been exposed and sickened by too much pool chlorine. More than half of them were at public facilities when the incidents occurred. DPR recommends keeping all pool chemicals out of the reach of children, making sure chemicals are stored properly and making sure residents shower before and after getting into the pool.
