Could Cannabis Delivery End Up Being Legal in California?

A change in California’s cannabis policy could allow home delivery even in jurisdictions that currently don’t allow it.

 

 

Joe Devlin with the City of Sacramento says history has taught us that fully banning marijuana has not worked, but opponents of the change say that type of policy shift can only be done by lawmakers, not regulators.

In related news, the Sonoma City Council is pushing a public vote on a marijuana initiative that would allow cannabis businesses back to 2020. Following a split vote yesterday, city leaders approved a 30-day study on the initiative, which essentially ends any chance of the measure making it onto the November ballot. Sonoma city code currently allows only cannabis delivery by licensed medical delivery services, and allows residents to grow up to three plants for personal use.
