The Mendocino Complex Fires burning along the Mendocino-Lake county area are prompting additional evacuation orders. The Ranch Fire burning northeast of Ukiah and the River Fire burning north of Hopland, now known as the Mendocino Complex Fires, combined have burned over 55,000 acres, and both fires were about five percent contained. The two fires are threatening 10.200 structures. The fires have forced about ten-thousand Lake County residents to flee their homes, and knocked out power to over 40-thousand customers. The River Fire has destroyed four homes and one outbuilding, but no serious injuries or deaths have been reported, and the cause of the fires remains under investigation.
