The Mendocino Complex Fire burning in Mendocino and Lake counties is now at over 68-thousand acres. The combined Ranch and River fires nearly doubled in size in a 12-hour period Sunday night, and both remain at about five percent contained. A total of seven homes and three outbuildings have been destroyed, and more than ten-thousand are still threatened by the blaze that has prompted more evacuation orders: these Lakeport women are waiting for word:

Roughly two-thousand fire personnel are battling the flames, no injuries have been reported, and the cause of the fires remains under investigation.

The Mendocino Complex fires are also now threatening Lakeport, Kelseyville and the small communities of Big Valley and Finley in Lake County. Evacuations are in place for all those communities. Cal Fire’s Lynne Tolmachoff:

More help for the firefighters already on scene has been requested from Cal Fire.
