Gun and ammunition sales at the state-owned Cow Palace are likely about to be a thing of the past. A bill banning such sales passed both the state Senate and Assembly and is now headed to Governor Brown’s desk. Senate Bill 221 was authored by San Francisco-based Senator Scott Wiener and Assemblyman Phil Ting. The Cow Palace usually hosts about five gun shows a year and the bill does not impact gun buy-back events by local law enforcement that are designed to remove the weapons from the streets.
