Animal rights protesters are not done after a weekend protest at a Petaluma poultry farm lead to the arrest of 58 protesters.

The Press Democrat reports that the group, the Bay Area chapter of Direct Action Everywhere, or DxE, is planning a protest at the sheriff’s office this afternoon demanding the charges against those arrested be dropped, claiming they were lawfully rescuing animals. The individuals were arrested for felony burglary and conspiracy along with misdemeanor trespassing as they attempted to take chickens away from McCoy’s Poultry Services. As of Monday morning, all but six were released on bail.
