Boaters sailing off the coast of California are being warned to give whales their space. Geoff Shester with Oceana, a conservationist group, says humans need to respect wildlife in their own habitat.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration issued a stern warning on social media after a photo showing a kayaker extremely close to a humpback whale went viral. The message warned people that right now is the time humpback whales are feeding close to shore. Conservationists say huge schools of anchovies attract large numbers of hungry whales and they should be left alone to feed as much as they can.
