Four CHP helicopter pilots are being honored for their brave efforts in last October’s wildfire in Napa. Governor Jerry Brown awarded the four pilots the medal of valor.

The officers received the state’s highest honor for saving 41 lives as the Atlas Fire burned in Napa last October 8th. The men who received the award were Officer Pete Gavitte, Officer Whitney Lowe, Officer Chad Millward, and Officer Phil Agdeppa. Governor Brown says their actions went above and beyond the call of duty and exemplify the highest standard of a California public safety officer.
