A construction crew hit a natural gas line in Novato at 3pm Monday afternoon. Residents of Somerset Drive, Somerset Place and Hampshire Way were asked to evacuate because the leak was near those homes. San Marin Drive was also shut down for a time. Residents were allowed back by around 7pm.
