A federal judge's ruling that the Obama health law is unconstitutional has landed like a stink bomb among Republicans, who've seen the politics of health care flip as Americans increasingly value the overhaul's core parts, including protections for pre-existing medical conditions and Medicaid for more low-income people. California is heading up a group of states in an effort to make sure that Obamacare remains in effect. A federal judge in Texas ruled the law was unconstitutional last week. A coalition of 17 attorney generals is asking the judge who ruled on the case to make it clear that the Affordable Care Act is still the law until the case goes through the appeals process. The move will ensure that Americans relying on Obamacare for health insurance won’t have their care disrupted.
