Retired Police Chief Tom Schwedhelm is the unanimous choice to become Santa Rosa’s next mayor. Schwedhelm, who currently represents the city’s District Six, was selected by his fellow council members at last night’s City Council meeting. Chris Rogers opened the vote:
Schwedhelm was unanimously picked by the rest of the council.
Vice Mayor Chris Rogers remains in that role for another year, and he had some kind words for outgoing mayor Chris Coursey:
Victoria Fleming was also sworn in for her first council term last night.
The new mayor joined Pat Kerrigan to discuss how it felt to be elected to the position, what his priorities will be going forward in 2019, the major focus on the rebuilding process, how helpful it is to be working with people he has successfully worked with in the past, what the holiday schedule looks like for the Santa Rosa City Council, and the outpouring of appreciation for exiting Mayor Chris Coursey:
