Santa Rosa City Council are advancing a plan to allow for more high density housing around the area of the two SMART stations in Santa Rosa. The plan would allow developers to build up to twice as many market-rate apartments allowed provided they promise to provide additional affordable housing. This would only apply to sites within a half mile of the two SMART stations or within a half mile of a school or designated “housing opportunity site.” Other density housing methods were discussed as well in last night’s council meeting including raising the cap on building heights and Parking requirements.
