The West County Charter Middle School in Forestville is closing for good at the end of this school year. Board members inside the West Sonoma County Union High School District said financial woes are to blame. The charter school has only been open about a year and a half, but district officials said it has cost more to operate than planned. Come next fall, the school building will be a part of the Forestville School District, though officials haven’t decided what educational model they’ll use.
