California and 15 other states are suing President Donald Trump over his national emergency declaration to fund a wall. State Attorney General Xavier Becerra announced the lawsuit yesterday, alleging the Trump administration’s action violates the Constitution. Trump’s move is designed to allow him to bypass Congress by using money from the Pentagon and other agency budgets. Meanwhile, Governor Newsom said Trump “made up” the emergency in order to “seize power and undermine the Constitution,” calling the emergency a “national disgrace.”
