Sonoma County election officials are set to test the county’s updated computerized voting system. Ballot scanning machines set to replace 80’s era ballot card readers will be taken for a test run next week. The over three-million dollar system will be used in a March 5th special election to approve or reject the lease or sale of the old Palm Drive Hospital in Sebastopol. The new ballot scanners are connected to computer software that immediately counts votes.
