Mayors from the state’s biggest cities are discussing tackling homelessness. Governor Gavin Newsom heard from 13 mayors from some of California’s biggest cities Wednesday and said the budget has just changed.

The mayors met with Newsom at the State Capitol Wednesday to talk about new ways to implement state money they will receive to combat homelessness this year. Some also touted programs they have already begun thanks to a new homeless emergency aid program implemented last year. They also asked the governor about increasing funding in the state budget. Newsom has budgeted 500-million in state funds to combat homelessness.
