A Sebastopol boy is taking his birthday to new heights. Evan Jacobs, an El Molino high school sophomore, turned 16 yesterday and celebrated by taking to the sky at the Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport. The PD reports he started the day by flying a helicopter alone for the first time and just hours later, he completed his first solo flight in an airplane. His instructor said Evan is the best student he’s ever had. He’s apparently not as excited to get his driver’s license since there are more things to bump into on the road.
