California Man Could Face Murder Chargers After DUI Crash Kills CHP Officer

A California man may face murder charges following a suspected DUI crash which left a CHP motorcycle officer dead. Sergeant Steve Licon died Saturday afternoon when he was struck on I-15 near Lake Elsinore.

CHP Inland Special Services Commander Mario Lucio says Licon was helping a family of four when he was hit and killed by Michael Callahan. The family escaped injury. Lucio praised Licon for his dedication yesterday while also calling him a major influence on his own career. Callahan is expected to appear in court later this week.
