PETA Supports Ban On Dissection of Animals

There’s an effort to ban the dissection of animals in California classrooms. AB 1586, known as the Replacing Animals in Science Education Act, is sponsored by Assembly Member Ash Kalra of San Jose and backed by PETA. PETA spokeswoman Samantha Suiter says dissecting dead animals is archaic.

The RAISE act says dissecting animals for science is unethical, expensive and harmful for the environment. It proposes replacing animal dissection activities statewide with simulation technology.
