FBI To Investigate Camp Fire

The FBI is getting involved in the criminal investigation of last November’s devastating Camp Fire. Butte County prosecutors want the agency to run tests on recently-collected sections of the transmission line that might have sparked California’s deadliest and most destructive wildfire ever. PG&E has already conceded its equipment probably caused the inferno, but lawyers say the utility could face criminal charges if it knew the line had problems before the fire and failed to take action. The bankrupt company is already on criminal probation stemming from the deadly 2010 San Bruno gas pipeline explosion.
