New Data Shows Bay Area is Home To Highest Gas Prices In Country

Gas prices are putting a hurt on wallets, but nowhere more than the Bay Area. According to new data released yesterday by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Bay Area gasoline was more expensive than any place in the country for the month of April. Prices averaged just under $4 a gallon in the San Francisco-Oakland-Hayward area. Those prices were about 38% more than the $2.89 national average.
