A Napa man is in custody following a three-hour standoff with police in an El Verano neighborhood Monday morning. Sonoma County sheriff’s deputies headed to the residence at around 10 a.m. after receiving a tip that a man wanted on a $500,000 domestic violence arrest warrant was in the area. Officials tell the Press Democrat that suspect Salvador Mora was reportedly armed with a machete and a handgun when a SWAT unit was sent to the Grove Street home where he and an unnamed woman were locked inside. A standoff ensued and eventually ended when 34-year-old Mora surrendered. The woman was released and Mora was booked into Sonoma County Jail for felony assault, making criminal threats, kidnapping, and vandalism. Mora is accused of kidnapping his girlfriend last week.
