PG & E Future Still Undecided

The future of California’s largest utility is still in limbo as lawmakers mull over what to do with the company now in bankruptcy. Senator Jerry Hill says now that CalFire has officially placed the blame on Pacific Gas & Electric, those calling for the utility to be broken up or replaced are pointing the finger at its senior leadership.

In April, a U.S. bankruptcy judge approved PG&E’s plan to pay $235 million in employee bonuses. The company has said it estimates it is responsible for $30 billion in total for wildfire liabilities, including the Camp Fire.
