Forged by fire, California strong. That’s the motto chanted by the new generation of California State Parks peace officers at this week’s graduation. Peace officer A.C. Barry says the training was worth it.
California State Parks announced the addition of 29 new peace officers who will “Live the Parks Life” as rangers and life guards in the nation’s largest state park system. The peace officers received their badges yesterday and committed to serving, protecting and educating visitors to California’s 280 state parks. This class was also commended for enduring the devastating Camp Fire. Cadets had to evacuate their classroom at Butte Community College, which was used as a command center for the fire incident.
