California Lawmakers Reviewing A Package Of Bills On Environmental Waste

California lawmakers will be considering a package of bills on environmental waste in the final weeks of the current session. Among them, there is an effort by Democratic Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez to phase out single use plastics over the next 20 years.

Republicans are generally opposed to the effort and its companion bill. They’re looking to create a balance between being environmentally-friendly and the economic impact it has on the state’s business climate.
